Each project commences with an idea and a wish to initiate and create something new.
Project is a series of activities aimed towards reaching certain goal which has been clearly defined and specified. Project is typically related with some risk, it is limited in duration (ends by achieving the project goal), utilises some financial, human and material resources, that require specific organization and result-oriented management.
We can identify projects everywhere in our suroundings: they rank from some interesting investment or complicated construction projects, accross scientific and military to sports, arts and many other projects. Besides the construction of production plant, the introduction of new product in product range or engagement of new labour may all be analyzed and organized as separate and individual projects. Thay may be successful, if planned thoroughly, as well as unsuccessful, in case the risks of their implementation were not assessed objectively.
Project management is usually supported by many diverse project management tools like SWOT analysis, GANTT chart (diagram) and PERT analysis (critical path), budgeting tools, organizational diagram, logical framework, risk analysis and diverse other. These tools are not only used in the project planning but also in the follow up and implementation.
Good plan for achievement of a certain goal is crucial for successful implementation of any project. Because it is due to a detailed and expert analysis prior to commencement of a project that we may avoid, or be prepared to neutralize, the risks of our undertaking.
The "project organization"
The "project organization" is the one that generates its income primarily by performing and implementing projects, but also any othe organization that is being managed as a project. Such enterprise cultivates specific organizational culture and nurtures particular style of working with its clients. It has dynamic organization based on one or multiple teams and is fast in action. In order to reach the organizational goals with success, the bottom-line characteristic of the "project organization" is high quality internal communications. It practices numerous tools in planning and implementation of tasks, and - more specifically - the tools for the detailed follow-up on results of its own activities, as well as the projects and activities of its clients.
VG Poduzetnički centar is an example of the "project organization": with an average of 20 "active" projects and at least 2 in "making", the 6 members of our team criss-cross in their individual tasks on projects of entrepreneurs and investors, municipal management and utility companies, on local, regional and international projects. They are required to manage the multiple sources of funding of their diverse projects - from local sources to preaccession (EU) and other international funds.
