Cluster HOTEL PLUS

The HOTEL PLUS cluster gathered 8 companies around the idea of a joint product – the first, branded “Croatian hotel room” as the main aim of associating. The partners in this initiative are the following:

REGENERACIJA d.d. from Zabok (carpets, pillows, bed cloths)
DEKOR d.o.o. from Zabok (lamps and lights)
SPACVA d.d. from Vinkovci (wooden doors, rustic floors)
DIP d.d. Karlovac from Karlovac (parquet)
KRETIVA tkanine i pribor d.o.o. from Zagreb (curtains, decorative textiles and design)
VG Poduzetnicki centar d.o.o. from Velika Gorica (cluster manager – branding, promotion and services)

Following the initial organizational negotiations among the partners, the Partnership Agreement (Agreement on Cluster Initiation) was sighed in June 2007. VG Poduzetnicki centar was nominated the cluster manager and the bearer of all the initial, joint activities of the partners. The partners employ over 1100 workers jointly. The cluster-member with the longest history is SPACVA d.d., having 150 years’ tradition of wood processing.

The kick-off workshop on associating was held in June 2007. The authentic concept of branding was also presented to the partners by VG Poduzetnicki centar d.o.o. and accepted by the partners. Following the agreement on the next steps of the cluster, the Center has written a project subliming the overall working plan of the cluster, defining the joint interests of the members and the activities striving to the achievement of the joint product of the cluster partners – the “Croatian hotel room”.

Cluster HOTEL PLUS represents the initiative associating the partners in promotion of the common product for tourism (hotel, i.e. lodging) industry: by implementing each of the product of the partners into the HOTEL PLUS hotel room, the partners bring forward their individual brands, bearing many awards and certificates (ISO standards, the “Croatian Origin” label etc.). Besides utilising the domestic raw material in production of the partners’ product ranges, the individual products of the partners are designed by the domestic designers, are results of the partners’ individual research and development, and are produced by the Croatian know-how in general.

The future cluster HOTEL PLUS brand is defined by a specific philosophy promoting the strength and wisdom of the long-term Croatian tradition of wood and wool processing, enriching the overall Croatian tourism product for an added value of the specially designed tale about Croatia. This tale is implemented into the HOTEL PLUS hotel room.

The first joint hotel room has been formed for the market at the beginning of 2008., whereas the second and the third rooms have also been created and exhibited on some fairs in Croatia.

The Cluster HOTEL PLUS projects have been recognized and co-funded by the Croatian Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.
